This is not a traditional management position. You will be a hands-on engineering leader responsible for enhancing an existing platform, expanding its capabilities, improving its architecture, and ensuring it scales to support enterprise customers in regulated industries. You will work directly with the Founder & CEO and other founding leaders to transform our current platform into the technology foundation that supports AI assessment, certification, customer operations, and future licensing initiatives. Initially, you will be an individual contributor. As the company grows, you will recruit and lead the engineering organization.
What you will do
- Own the technical roadmap for the MAAC Assessment Platform.
- Enhance and maintain the existing assessment engine.
- Design and implement new platform capabilities, customer features, and enterprise integrations.
- Improve platform architecture, scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
- Build secure APIs and automation that support the complete AI assessment lifecycle.
- Design solutions that support future certification, continuous monitoring, and enterprise licensing.
- Establish engineering standards, development practices, testing procedures, and technical documentation.
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend architectural improvements aligned with the company's long-term strategy.
- Work closely with Quality, AI Governance, Revenue, and Legal to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Recruit, mentor, and grow the engineering team as the company expands.
What we are looking for
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proven experience building and maintaining production SaaS platforms.
- Strong proficiency with TypeScript, Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, Docker, and modern cloud platforms.
- Experience designing scalable software architectures and secure REST APIs.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, DevOps, CI/CD, containerization, and software security.
- Experience integrating AI or LLM-powered applications into production environments.
- Comfortable making architectural decisions and taking ownership of long-term technical direction.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
- Excited about helping build both a platform and a company.
Compensation
Founding roles are equity-compensated during launch, with a contractual path to salary: a defined revenue trigger converts each role to a market-anchored base salary with benefits, plus a milestone equity grant that vests at conversion. Equity-first now, salaried later, on documented terms rather than promises.
